History of opencart
The development of OpenCart is dated back in 1998, where Christopher G. Mann was the one who developed it for Walnut Creek CDROM, which was later FreeBSD Mall. Though in 2000, the development of Cart stalled, which was later on revived in 2005 by a UK-Based developer, Daniel Kerr.The 2nd Version of OpenCart was released in 2014, i.e., version 2.0. In 2016, Version 2.2.0.0 of Open Cart was released.
