History of magento
Magento software was initially developed by Varien which is a US company; this was in March 2008 where its first version was first released. The CEO of Varien sold its shares to eBay, and the company was later on sold to Permira. Permira sold the company to Adobe, who are its current owners. In 2015 the second version of Magento, Magento 2.0, was released.
